JHEASA Province Co-ordinators’ Meeting 2025 at St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata

The Jesuit Higher Education Association of South Asia (JHEASA) held its annual Province Co-ordinators for Higher Education (PCHEs) Meeting from 19–21 September 2025 at St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata.
The gathering opened with a fellowship dinner on September 19, fostering camaraderie among participants. On September 20, sessions began with an inaugural address by Fr. Joe Arun, SJ (LIBA, Chennai), followed by a sharing on the Reimagining and Restructuring (RR) Process, and a Eucharist led by Fr. Oscar Tirkey, SJ. Afternoon inputs included an online message from Fr. Joseph Christie, SJ (Secretary for Higher Education, Rome) and an address by Fr. Stanislaus D’Souza, SJ (President, Jesuit Conference of South Asia). Discussions focused on implementing global concerns from the IAJU Assembly, Bogotá.
On September 21, deliberations focused on zonal-level planning, a higher education policy for the assistantship, and strategies for networking and collaboration, in preparation for the upcoming JHEASA Conference in Mumbai. The meeting closed with a Eucharist celebrated by Fr. John Rose, SJ and a fraternal meal.
Marked by reflection, discernment, and collaboration, the meeting renewed the commitment of Jesuit higher education in South Asia to integrate local initiatives with global priorities.
